Ever since the Chaos Group bought over ASGVIS, the original developers of VRAY for Sketchup, there has been much hope by the Sketchup community that the software would be brought inline with that of VRAY for 3ds Max. The next release of everyone’s favourite 3D modeling tool, SketchUp, is here. With a number of performance enhancements to SketchUp 2014 and Layout 2014, there have also been some additional features added to both programs which many users will be happy about. As a regular user of Sketchup, we were delighted with the improvements that have been brought through to the latest release. I came across this video the other day showcasing how VFX was used in the Box Office hit, The Great Gatsby. As a business that offers a service in Architectural Visualization, we thought it perfectly showcased the amount of work that goes into VFX these days.
Designer Media was recently approached by a local business, Galway Airsoft Supplies, to redevelop its e-commerce website prior to the Christmas period. The brief for the project was website redesign of the company’s existing e-commerce website giving it a new, more stylish and user-friendly design. The client’s key requirements for the new site were the following: A Responsive layout (viewable on smartphones and tablet devices) Multiple currency option Social Media interaction Zoom feature for product images PayPal payment Easy-to-use backend for admin and staff
Designer Media was approached through a colleague to redevelop a website for Carnmore based furniture company, NLM Teo. The brief for this web design project was to redevelop their existing and dated website with one which was more in line with their new company branding and offered a categorised image gallery to showcase some of their bespoke pieces of furniture. About a year ago, a survey was sent around via a LinkedIn discussion group looking for individuals who use Google Sketchup on a daily basis for work related projects. The survey asked individuals to write about how they use Sketchup and why it was their choice of drafting software.
Designer Media was recently approached to develop a website which would showcase the legendary Italian scooter brand Vespa. Known for their funky and retro styling, the Vespa brand is well established throughout the world. While studying for his Degree in Interior Architecture, one of Robert’s final projects was to come up with a design concept for a boutique styled hotel for Bombay Sapphire and incorporate the brand’s corporate identity and values into the interior design. Aspects of the project were to create a 3D model, photo realistic renders and an animated walk-through of the final design. These are just a few examples of the finished design. (more…)
