The next release of everyone’s favourite 3D modeling tool, SketchUp, is here. With a number of performance enhancements to SketchUp 2014 and Layout 2014, there have also been some additional features added to both programs which many users will be happy about. As a regular user of Sketchup, we were delighted with the improvements that have been brought through to the latest release. We think it is safe to say that Sketchup is now a real contender as a CAD & BIM drafting tool. Lets take a look at some of these new updates Trimble have introduced. (more…)
About a year ago, a survey was sent around via a LinkedIn discussion group looking for individuals who use Google Sketchup on a daily basis for work related projects. The survey asked individuals to write about how they use Sketchup and why it was their choice of drafting software.
While studying for his Degree in Interior Architecture, one of Robert’s final projects was to come up with a design concept for a boutique styled hotel for Bombay Sapphire and incorporate the brand’s corporate identity and values into the interior design. Aspects of the project were to create a 3D model, photo realistic renders and an animated walk-through of the final design. These are just a few examples of the finished design. (more…)
While studying for his Degree in Interior Architecture, Robert was asked by Zivkovic Connolly Architects to create a detailed 3D model and of a boutique store they were designing in N.Y. City based on CAD plans & elevation drawings they supplied. These are just a few images of the actual store on completion and some final renders produced by Designer Media.
